Home insurance in El Paso

Texas State Insurance Agency has insured El Paso homes since 2009, from the Westside to the Upper Valley. We are an independent agency with two offices, on Mesa Street and on Golden Key Circle, and our agents work in English and Spanish.

Whether you own, rent or keep a rental property, we write the policy that fits it, for homes across El Paso, the Upper and Lower Valley, and Southern New Mexico, including Las Cruces, Sunland Park, Santa Teresa, Anthony and Chaparral.

Home coverage we write

  • Homeowners
  • Renters and condo
  • Landlord and rental property
  • Flood insurance (separate policy) and personal umbrella

What to have ready for a quote

These details help us match the policy to the house. If you are unsure of one, we can look it up together.

  • The property address and the year the home was built
  • Approximate square footage and number of stories
  • Roof age and material, and any updates to plumbing, electrical or heating and cooling
  • Your current policy's declarations page, if you have one
  • Your mortgage company's name, if the home has a loan
  • Any claims on the property in recent years

Flood is a separate policy

Standard homeowners policies generally do not cover flood damage. In El Paso the summer monsoon can bring sudden flash flooding, including in neighborhoods that are not in a mapped flood zone. Flood insurance is written as its own policy, and new flood policies often have a waiting period before coverage starts, so it is worth asking about before storm season rather than during it.

Owners, renters and landlords

A homeowners policy protects the house and what is in it. Renters and condo policies protect your belongings and your liability when someone else insures the building. If you rent a property out, a landlord policy is built for that use. A personal umbrella adds liability protection above your home and auto policies.
