Commercial insurance in El Paso
Texas State Insurance Agency has placed business insurance in El Paso since 2009, from single storefronts to multi-site warehouse operations. Our commercial lines team is led by our founder, Sabino Lara III, and works in English and Spanish from two offices, on Mesa Street and on Golden Key Circle.
We work with businesses across El Paso, the Upper and Lower Valley, and Southern New Mexico, including Las Cruces, Sunland Park, Santa Teresa, Anthony and Chaparral. As an independent agency we can look at more than one insurance company for your business.
Business coverage we write
- General liability and commercial property
- Business owners policy (BOP)
- Workers' compensation
- Commercial auto and fleet
- Umbrella and excess liability
- Multi-site and warehouse portfolios
What to have ready for a quote
Commercial quotes depend on how the business runs. These details help us get it right; we can gather the rest with you.
- The business name, ownership structure and years in operation
- A plain description of what the business does
- Estimated annual revenue and payroll, and the number of employees
- Each location's address, square footage and what is kept there
- Vehicles used for the business and who drives them
- Current policies and loss runs (your claims history from your current insurer)
Texas and New Mexico
Workers' compensation rules differ across the state line. Texas does not require most private employers to carry it, though many contracts and customers do. New Mexico generally requires it once a business reaches a certain number of employees, and sooner in some industries. We will confirm what applies to your business and your contracts.
Leases, loans and contracts often name specific coverages, limits and certificates of insurance. Send them over and we will read them with you before you sign.
How we work with businesses
You get a team that knows your operation: the same people answer when you need a certificate, add a vehicle or open a new location, and we review the program with you before each renewal.
